Lower Back Pain is one of the most common diseases. Symptoms are mainly pain on one or both sides of the waist, which can often radiate to the legs.
There are many reasons for LBP. Diseases of certain organs can also cause it. For example, urinary tract inflammation or stones, glomerulonephritis, certain women's diseases (pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine retroversion, etc.), pregnancy, lumbar radiculitis and certain abdominal diseases can also cause lower back pain.
The most common LBP is caused by lumbar muscle strain. After lumbar muscle strain, the strength of muscles and tendons is weakened, and the relative position of the spine cannot be well supported and fixed, resulting in the dislocation or movement of the lumbar disc, which compresses the adjacent nerves, causing pain and transmitting to the lower limbs. This is what we often call lumbar disc herniation.
Acupuncture treatment of this kind of common lumbago is still very effective.
We believe that the weakening of the strength of the lumbar muscles is directly caused by the lack of nutrition of the lumbar muscles, that is, there is not enough Qi and Blood to nourish them. Over time, the strength of the muscles is weak.
Why is there not enough Qi and Blood? One reason is that with age, the spleen and stomach function has declined and the intake is less. Another reason is that due to long-term sitting, lack of exercise and training, the local blood circulation is not good, which causes the lumbar muscles to be strained. The range of motion at a certain time is too large, or the load is too heavy, which causes muscle fiber damage, resulting in pain.
Therefore, our treatment is mainly based on restoring the local Qi and Blood supply, allowing the lumbar muscles to get more nutrition, thereby improving muscle strength, restoring the position of the lumbar disc, reducing the pressure on the nerves, and the pain is relieved or eliminated.
Of course, the fundamental solution is to wait until the pain is eliminated, and then do regular and appropriate exercise, a reasonable diet, and improve the overall energy of the body, which can effectively prevent recurrence.
